about

Wednesday 14th December 2011: Recording session at Nick's house. Nick played soprano sax, mey, zurna (Turkish wind instruments) and furlaya (Transylvanian wind instrument), and middle eastern percussion instruments davul and bendir.

January 2012: audio stripped, reshaped and remoulded into five tracks... no sound sources other than the recordings from that day were used (except for one sine bass line in Tallinn Mix). The Zurna made a good bass drum.

All the tracks are in some version of 9 beats per bar. Originally they were based on a Turkish rhythm in 9/8. Tallinn Mix in 4/4 with some weird triplety 9 division over it.
